“One way to keep in touch with the fish is to keep in touch with their habitat, especially the temperature of water. When matchfishing, I always carry a digital thermometer to keep tabs on any changes. Any slight increases mean I can be more aggressive with my feed, and decrease means I rein in my feeding.

It didn't always make the difference between winning and losing, but it did often help me decide what baits and tactics were going to work, or not, should the same happen on the next session.”
